there’s an ‘iron feather’ sculpture at the entrance to the oklahoma city airport. i noticed it the other day when flying out of the city and it kind of struck me.
i like the symbolism of the arrows, both for me personally and what they mean for oklahoma. for me, the okc airport is a marker of being ‘home’ for me, since when i go home, i’m usually flying, so the arrows are kind of a sort of guidance symbol.
i did some research on the iron feathers and their significance to okc, mostly having to do with native americans. you can look it up for yourself if you’re interested, but i like them, so i made this graphic.
